The Universal Music Plaza Stage is an attraction located in the Production Central area at Universal Studios Florida. The attraction is a recreation of the famous Hollywood Bowl, and provides a permanent stage for live concerts during the park's Mardi Gras, Rock the Universe, Summer Concert Series and Universal Holidays events. It has also been used to project queue videos for haunted houses during Halloween Horror Nights. The attraction is located next to the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit rollercoaster's entrance, and opened on February 21, 2009 for Mardi Gras concert performances. Upon its opening, the attraction replaced The Boneyard.
In Summer 2008, it was announced that the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit attraction would also be accompanied by a music plaza recreating the Hollywood Bowl, which was officially titled The Universal Music Plaza Stage in January 2009. Construction walls were placed around the Boneyard in July 2008, with a confirmed closure of Boneyard after the Rock the Universe 2008 event to allow land clearing and construction to begin. The plaza officially opened during Mardi Gras on February 21, 2009 with a performance by Ne-Yo.
